Starbase Update: Graduation! Stardate 4.10.09

First, may you have a blessed Good Friday!

Now, on to Starbase. The kids graduated from Starbase today. It was actually a very moving graduation. The Director and Senior Teacher obviously LOVE their job and truly care about the futures of these kids. At the end of the ceremonies, the Director (that awesome guy that helped Jman out in the jet cockpit yesterday) addressed the kids one more time. He challenged them to go home tonight, find an envelope and write on it April 10, 2024 and to put inside a letter reminding them to find him 15 years later and tell him what they've done with their lives for the last 15 years. I swear he was choking up talking to these kids, encouraging them to take action to achieve their goals and dreams, challenging them to make good decisions and good friends, telling them that every choice has consequences and to make right choices. It was really amazing and I am SO glad that Sly and the other homeschoolers and kids from the base elementary school were invited to participate in Starbase. If you ever have the chance for your kids to go to Starbase, do NOT pass it up. It was a terrific week.
